A day at the Metro Parks

Please join the pack for an afternoon (and/or evening) at the park!  We're talking about Saturday, August 14th.

PART I: Caterpillar Walk
@ Blendon Woods, Cherry Ridge Program Area, 1:00 PM (MEET AT 12:30) (Park Map) (Directions)
"We'll search milkweed patches for monarch caterpillars and learn how they mature into beautiful butterflies."  The walk should take about an hour, then please bring your own food for a light picnic lunch.  Playground, hiking, other park activites afterward...

PART II: Planets and Perseids
@ Sharon Woods, Apple Ridge Bulletin Board, 9:00PM (MEET AT 8:30) (Park Map) (Directions)
"View planets and enjoy watching for 'shooting stars'. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and snacks. Telescopes and binoculars may be provided but meteor showers are best viewed with the naked eye. Please bring a garbage bag or tarp to lay on if the ground is wet. Program ends at 10:30 as the park will be closed at 10pm."
